At the invitation of Professor Wang leyong, as part of his trip to China, Professor Roger g. Harrison of Birmingham Young University (USA) visited Nanjing University and the research group on October 14. Professor Roger g. Harrison is an internationally famous supramolecular and macrocyclic chemist.

On the morning of the 15th, Professor Harrison gave a special lecture on the 3rd floor of the chemistry building, which specifically described how to design and synthesize calixarene with biological application prospects, and introduced in detail the synthesis of novel amino acid modified calixarene and their presentation entitled host molecules based on resorcinarenes functionalized with amino acids: their synthesis in the hall His unique views on macrocyclic chemistry and the perfect combination of experimental chemistry and practical application give teachers and students a new perspective on macrocyclic chemistry.

During the report period, Professor Harrison explained very patiently, interacted with the audience from time to time, listened carefully to everyone's questions, and carefully answered them one by one.

On the afternoon of the 15th, Zhang Ning and Xiong Shuhan of the research group led Professor Harrison to visit Jiming temple, Ming Great Wall, Xuanwu Lake and Confucius Temple in Nanjing, leaving a trace of ancient capital culture in Professor Harrison's trip to China.

On the morning of the 16th, Professor Harrison also had a cordial academic exchange with the students of the research group. His rigorous scientific research attitude left a very deep impression on all of us. He left Nanjing for Yangzhou in the afternoon. This academic exchange activity was successfully held and achieved a complete success.
