Invited by Professor Yong Liang and Professor Leyong Wang, Prof.Miguel A. Garcia-Garibay(Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles CA, 90095 USA)visited Nanjing on Sept. 16th and gave an academic report on 18th. Prof. Miguel A. Garcia-Garibay is the associate editor of JACS (Journal of the American Chemical Society). He is committed to the research of gyro molecules. The two ends of the molecule have excellent dynamic stability, while the middle part of the molecule can rotate with changes in external conditions. This is a molecule that can be used to build new materials. At 10:15 on Sept. 18th (Sunday), Prof. Miguel A. Garcia-Garibay gave a special report for graduate students entitled Amphidynamic Materials and Molecular Machines: Supramolecular and Extended Architectures in the meeting room H201 of Xianlin Chemistry Building. He introduced his work in the field of materials and supramolecules in detail, and actively answered questions for everyone. Then, at 11:30, Dr. Xing Jiang fromProf. Miguel A. Garcia-Garibay’s group gave a presentation in Chinese and further discussed the application prospects of this molecule in various aspects.
