Invited by Professor Leyong Wang and Associate Professor Juli Qiang, Prof. Tiow-Gan Ong（Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Nangang, Taipei, Department of Applied Chemistry, National ChiaoTung University, HsinChu, Taiwan, Republic of China）visited Nanjing on May. 8th and gave an academic report on the same day. At 10:30 am on May. 8nd (Monday), Prof. Tiow-Gan Ong gave a special report for graduate students entitled Main Group Chemistry and Catalysis through Tinkering the Ligand Framework in the meeting room H201 of Xianlin Chemistry Building. He reported the synthesis and application in coordination chemistry of Nitrogen heterocyclic carbene (NHC) and carbodicarbonate and how to proceeded a reasonable ligand design in catalysis in detail. The report was simple but profound, which benefited people a lot. Finally, Prof. Tiow-Gan Ong visited the laboratory of our research group and had a further discussion with the members in our group.
